The use of CBD products has really taken off in the last few years but I find that many people still don’t know much about it - even people who are using it or selling it. When CBD products first started popping up in the marketplace, I was retail manager for a small group of yoga and wellness studios. Clients began asking for CBD products but, before adding them to our inventory, we wanted to do our due diligence to ensure that it was in line with our mission, and that CBD products were safe and appropriate for our clients. As retail manager, I was assigned this task.
I started with online research to understand what CBD is and how it works. I found and completed an online CBD consultant certification course so that I could help train our staff and answer client questions. I also researched CBD distributors, looking for brands that I felt were in alignment with our standards: ethical and environmentally sustainable practices, all natural ingredients, small businesses, etc. I reached out the companies I was most interested in for more information and samples, when they were available.
I found a lot of products that I thought worked well, and now that CBD products have been on the market for a few years, the quality and effectiveness overall has improved. In addition to bringing in products for our retail boutiques, I began using CBD for myself and my family, and eventually integrated it into my massage practice.
There are different administration methods for CBD. Each effects the body and systems differently. For massage practice, and for pain due to injury or muscle tension, topical use is most effective. Most CBD companies offer topical pain creams in various levels of potency, and often with added ingredients with additional anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Using regular topical products for massage is like using a regular lotion. Massage specific products have specific viscosity, to allow for glide without being to slippery. Regular lotions and oils either soak in too quickly, so you lose your glide, or get sticky. Happy Buddha Hemp offers a variety of CBD creams, balms, and oils that are specifically made for massage use. This, along with the potency and noticeable results, are what puts Happy Buddha Hemp CBD products at the top of my list for best CBD products for massage.
Because Happy Buddha Hemp products are made for massage and spa use, I am able to use the products during the massage and my clients can feel the effects right away, whether I am using the highly concentrated Buddha Balm or Sports Cream for pain, or the Orange Blossom or Lavender Body Oil for general relaxation. The CBD, herbs, and essential oils in the products start working right away and keep working during the massage and for hours after.
My favorite product to use with clients is Happy Buddha Extra Strength Sports Cream. This is not the product with the highest concentration of CBD, but it is so effective that I save the one with higher concentration, the Buddha Balm, for my most extreme cases. Any time one of my clients complains of localized pain (and most of my clients have pain somewhere) due to muscle tension or injury, I apply a bit of Sports Cream to the affected area as soon as they are on the table. I rub it in for a few minutes, then let it start to do it’s work while I begin my regular routine. When I get back to the area where the CBD was applied, it is already starting to loosen up and I am able to apply deeper techniques with less discomfort to the client. Even my most critical and skeptical clients have reported that the cream reduces their pain, and I have experienced this for myself.
I’ve been practicing massage for over 20 years. This line of work can be hard on the practitioner’s body and often, at the end of the work day, my hands and wrists ache. Since I began using Happy Buddha CBD Sports Cream in my practice regularly my hands and wrists no longer ache, just from the amount I absorb while using it on my clients.
